 Central Venous Catheterization

Central venous catheterization is a crucial skill for many health care practitioners - Physicians, PA's, Nurse Practitioners and some Advance Practice Nurses. The implications, materials, procedure, complications and treatments of potential complications are vital components of the procedure. Implementation of key safety features and checklists have helped to reduce error; however the need to properly train and retrain healthcare professionals is imperative. Bad practice and short cuts ignore the protocols and procedures, bypassing crucial components of the guidelines that are designed to protect the patient and utilize best practice.

This app highlights the most common areas of complication and safety and allows you to interactively perform key steps in the procedure.
